I didn't even know there was a thread going on.

I think that there's a few people that legitimately support people like Britney and want to support them through issues like that, but I agree that there's a worrying amount of people who encourage the reckless and uncharacteristic behavior many of their female faves show in these situations.

Hopefully if another prominent woman goes through something with mental illness on ATRL, we can all work to shift the way we talk about it and focus on supporting her and encouraging her - as fans, who the person will likely hear - to get the right treatment and support.

I don't like ATRL's mindset on mental illness either, believe me.

the thing I hate is how everybody has a goddamned victim complex. No matter who they are, they want to portray themselves as a victim, even if they're clearly NOT one. Well first they focused in on "white gays" then I edited that out so they focused in on "messy women" so I edited that out. Then they focused in on "Paris Hilton" so I edited that out. Like it was a messy OP, of course. I came up with it in like ten seconds after discussing this topic in here. It obviously wasn't going to be very coherent.

I'm just so upset people completely ignored the topic. Only two or three people, all female members, actually discussed what was at hand.

I'm just so upset with this site's mindset on so many topics. I honestly just feel so nasty after reading any thread involving social issues. A perma ban is definitely in my future in the coming months.
