It's pretty obvious that the Max/Shellback track will basically be her "Rude Boy", her failsafe smash hit in case the GP doesn't respond well to the first three arty/derk/urban/indie/alternative/experimental singles.
max and co. are her crutch and safety blanket obviously so she has a backup plan in case her so called evolution fails. i think katy genuinely loves working with max though based on the interview bit she did months ago
