yes, bey shot herself in the foot a bit by refusing to promote and letting partition/XO falter. if they had become major pop hits she actually could've won. if they're going to give AOTY to a pop artist, it has to be completely justified. she had everything but longevity/big hits and that could've been easily remedied, but she's stubborn and ~groundbreaking~ so she chose not to play the game
