I am thinking out loud
It really feels like the first chapter of her career (DIL - 4) was the phase of her career where she basically tried to grow as performer, as chartforce and to build a fundament. After the last few days I came to realise that 4 was really building towards a message that climaxed with the release of Selftitled. I Was Here felt odd at the beginning since it has lyrics that are more about either passing away or retiring, but in the light of the last few years, it seems like that song actually symbolised her closing that chapter of her career.
Selftitled was the first step into embracing herself as human, as artist etc. and it also was kinda a project to test the waters. She still had her pop moments, but also experimented. LEMONADE takes that concept either further with delivering a full continues movie which co-excists with the music. And shows her even more unapologetic. She shows so much growth. She embraced herself even more and shows her own problems and situations throughout her craft and in a very honest way, she also shpws more sides of her, with her focusing more on her heritage and relationships overall.
She really is one of a kind and she is currently basically the only one I can think of who can pull these amazing things and still be able to top herself the next time
