Katy her lead singles have always been global. The real challenge will be the following singles. Am curious to find out whether she's expanded her globalness
In order for that to happen, Gaga's next two singles have to be underwhelming, and Katy needs more Diamonds, Fireworks and Roars (in other words, more globally appealing songs) and less Teenage Dreams and American Girls (aka US centric songs that don't sell albums).
