What is the percentage for airplay and downloads on the Hot 100? I don't remember exactly. Alicia Keys is at #2 and #9 on iTunes, and if you've seen her airplay on Mainstream alone, it's a huge gain. I'm pretty sure she'll be #1 for awhile.

And DetroitChi, what is wrong with you and thinking that because a song is #1 on iTunes it'll automatically go #1 on the Hot 100? You do it ALL the time. "Low" is a penny compared to "No One" when it comes to radio play. And the only way it has the slightest chance is if both of those "no one" singles fall out the top 10.

So "No One" got this for another 3 or 4 weeks tops. Only "Clumsy" or "Apologize" have a chance.

Billboard Adds Online Streaming to Hot 100 Chart Formula

Billboard magazine, the music industry's chart authority, is recognizing the impact of the Internet on popularity of top songs. For their signature Hot 100 chart, music streams over the Internet will be incorporated into the data that determines a song's ranking. Currently Yahoo! Music and AOL Music will be the sources for streaming data. Billboard plans to add other services such as Rhapsody as the setup for delivery of data is created.

Beginning with this past Saturday's Hot 100 chart, the assignment of points for creating the chart is 55% radio airplay, 40% digital download sales, and 5% digital streams. Since February, 2005, Billboard has also published a Pop 100 chart which uses data from mainstream pop radio stations (instead of all radio stations like the Hot 100) and digital sales to create the chart. This is the chart which this site follows most closely. It is likely that the Pop 100 will soon incorporate digital streaming data as well.
