THE FILM. Yes, she has shot a film. What this film is like and how it will be presented only she knows. But she shot a huge bulk of it in New Orleans. Other parts of it were shot elsewhere and with different directors. How she puts it all together is what really is going to be exciting!
THE RELEASE DATE. K. Michelle was not lying. We got solid information that the album was dropping last week 2 days before K. Michelle said anything. And this came straight from Beyonce's team! Won't share who. But it came directly from the team. K. Michelle running her mouth could have honestly made her change her mind. So, it's any day now. The album is done and ready to go.
THE ALBUM. Heard from 2 solid sources that she will give an exact release date. Possibly even in ELLE. Not sure, but I have been told it's coming straight from B to us. So, who knows what that means? There won't be a surprise just plopped in a digital store somewhere. She will let us know. The album is soulful. Huge on the vocals in the way 4 was, but it still has the gritty, provocative and empowering feeling she started with Self Titled. Yes, the album has moments of social consciousness covering many different issues. But that's not to say the album doesn't also have moments of love, turn-up, sensuality, etc. Like all of her albums, it is eclectic. It has been described to me by rock solid sources as "soulful" and "intelligent". I love that one of my sources called it "intelligent". What a compliment! Expect more cool moments like the Chimamande speech on "Flawless". She's gathered so much stuff from YouTube/the internet and has really immersed herself in being caught up and educated on everything she will cover. Unsure what makes it to the album vs. what she plans to keep for the tour in terms of content. This isn't just for show. Her and Jay were extremely close to the Trayvon case. Remember when Jay said he didn't sleep for like 3 days after the verdict? This **** isn't for show. She's so full of this, and like anyone else, is TIRED. How amazing she's using her voice & celebrity to stand behind something she believes in. As of 2 weeks ago, I was told she couldn't put the album down. She has been eating, sleeping & breathing this project. Everyday there's a new vocal stack, a new adlib, she's sending tracks back via E-Mail wanting harder drums or changing chord progressions, etc. ....All this while busting her ass in rehearsals all day. We were told FOR SURE the album is coming in April. Rock, Country (yes!), Hip Hop, Pop.... she's done a lot of songs and covered a lot of genres.
THE TOUR. It will be fire! Crazy set. Over the top production. Which you all saw from the Gerrick Kennedy tweet. And honestly, I heard that out of everything that has spilled onto the net, the only thing she was absolutely PISSED about leaking was that. She's passionate about this tour. The reason she was seeing so many shows (Britney, Madonna, Janet, etc.) was because she wanted to really experience artists who put on huge productions to just get a feel from an audience perspective of what works and what doesn't. The tour has been described to me as "aggressively political". What that means is obviously a little vague. But like I said, she has a lot of content she's gathered from YouTube and the web. The tour videos and imagery, I've heard, are seriously amazing. Just like Made In America and On The Run, the tour visuals will be cinematic. She has a lot of footage. So much, someone close to the project told me she may not even be able to use it all. Things are evolving & changing everyday. The theme of the tour is a continuation from the Super Bowl performance and the "Formation" music video. It's going to be crazy!
KAYLA & THE DANCING DOLLS. We were sitting on this tea for a long time. But Beyonce first got hip to Southern University's (LOUISIANA!) Dancing Dolls when she saw this video:
...being projected on the walls at Solange's Saint Heron Proclamation Party. She was so obsessed & enamored with the video, that when the guests left, she kicked off her heels and started learning the choreography right in the club. She's nuts! While everyone is drinking and partying. Beyonce was lost in the sauce thinking about her next project. When we saw her go to the Superdome, Naomi kind of put 2 and 2 together that it could be for that. But wasn't entirely sure. Well, we now know 100% that Bee reached out to the former captain, Kayla (the SLAYER in the middle), and Kayla worked on a piece of "ProjectLemonade" (code name) down in New Orleans. I shared that with chel, J, Ryan, B-Revolution, Ocky & LaBella months ago. So, we've all been kind of sitting on that. And that info never leaked. So, obviously, I talk to the right people. LOL.
BEYONCE. She's super nervous! One of my sources says she is so nervous and feels so much pressure from all of this. She has never taken such a risk with using her celebrity to stand behind issues that are this controversial & divisive.
This album is going to be historical. Everyday I dream about it. For those wondering, yes we spill tea we can and usually only spill something we know is already out there somewhere or will leak. We know song titles, some of the setlist, movie theme, etc. But that kind of stuff we just won't talk about.
