I have no one else to turn to but you guys.

I need two recommendations for most of my college apps.

I got all my recc's secured before we went on break last friday, but I came down with the flu and haven't been able to get out of bed until earlier today.

One of my recommenders said they won't be able to complete their part

I am in PANIC mode. The deadline is in 8/9 days. I sent out an SOS to every teacher I've ever met begging for a recommendation. I'm not going to even be considered for college because of this. What am I going to tell my parents? omgomgomg

Did the teacher say that they need more time or that they won't be able to do it at all? If it's the former, then contact the college and tell them that you'd be able to submit in everything but the recommendation letter on time because the teacher/professor was backed up with finals and needs more time. I'm sure they'll understand given it's not really in your control.

I'm sure one of your other teachers will be able to do one for you sis, don't worry! You have more than a week, that's plenty of time.

First of all, it is the Christmas period, so teachers are unlikely to respond. For you to panic right now is not good, try and enjoy the festive holidays (well if you celebrate it that is). Is there anyway you can get the deadline extended? Surely if you had flu and with it being the holidays they'd be understanding right?

If it gets to the last minute and you are a little stuck is there not anybody who could speak on behalf of the teacher? Or maybe have a fake recommendation from a friend, family, relative or another professional?

I assume by recommendation you mean reference right? That is the term we use in the UK.

It's a Common Application, and the recommendation is electronically submitted. So extension is kind of out of the question... I already spent my money to send transcripts and SAT scores and everything, too. .

Now, I DID already complete the Californian school applications, (UCLA and UC Berekely) so it's not like I won't go to college at all, but still My mom's going to be REALLY upset, I told her I could do this on my own I guess there's nothing I can do but pray one of my teachers come through.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. I know how it feels. But like a previous poster said it isn't in your hands anymore it's the teacher that needs to get back to you. I wouldn't worry because it'll make you sick. As long as you've tried everything you can then just let it rest. Like you said, your chances of getting into college are high.
