Well I don't care for the direction this is heading in at all. I don't care about the comics, this Negan setting is cheesy and lacks realism. The finale was actually pretty uneventful - why have an extended runtime just to fill it with nothing? No-one died, the plot crawled along. This whole season was pretty much a waste of time. The creators are putting so much into Negan they had to steer this whole thing to his reveal, which resulted in abandoned storylines and pointless filler episodes. This season was probably the worst in the entire show and I certainly hope the next season is better. Perhaps with Negan they will have more plot progression and less meaningless chatter. The earlier seasons had a lot more realism to them, but now it's just a load of pantomime "bad guys" who aren't shocking at all and just rely on cringey showboating. I don't think the show should cater so much to the comics because that's where the weakest points of the show come from.

If you feel so strongly go join the writing crew. The should is not that bad honestly and the season was very entertaining. The first half was a tad bit slow though, but this season delivered some of the best episodes in the series.

You're entitled to your opinion and yes there definitely were very good episodes. But I'm talking about the season as a whole which has had pretty bad structure and pacing. This season has felt like a struggle to move on from Alexandria to Negan, and it could've been done more quickly and simply.
This Season gave us JSS and Terminator hand gun carol, as well as character development for some of the lessor characters, including some sad deaths and intense moments, so I'm more than happy with the season

Only because they shakily retconned this season. And they don't have to be parallel to the comics, they're separate entities and seeing as how the show diverted in many ways from the comics in the past it proves that it doesn't have to follow the source material to be a top quality show.

I want it to be Glenn, but Negan's position leads me to believe it's either Aaron, Eugene, or Sasha. Any one of those is completely underwhelming in comparison to the possible loss of Glenn or Daryl (who everyone thought it was going to be). They each have the capacity for much more growth and character development... And I need to see Sasha and Abraham make some mixed babies.
