But every time they drag for what they (NOW) know her to be, it only makes it look even worse that they could have SOMEHOW believed otherwise just 3-4 years ago.
And it's a constant onslaught of hate from the same few posters that were once Monsters. Very telling, indeed. I have never seen a group of stans so enraged and dejected by an artists' downfall.
I like their MUSIC. I don't know them personally, or have pictures of them on my wall, or cry when I see them on TV. I don't feel anything other than "good for them" if they do well.

No? I never thought she was an alien. There are many people out there who are genuinely eccentric, creative, kooky. Finding out it was, as many suspected, all an act, was a bit of a let-down

On a similar note, why do so many gaga fans hide behind "ironic" or "meme" gaga avis that present this "oh gaga " façade which would imply that they're somehow laughing with her and "just enjoying the ride" when really they're crying inside? It's so... tears of a clown when there's no one around. If they STILL stan her nowadays (for whatever reason unbeknownst to me), they should at least have the gall to sport actual Gaga avis that lay their **** bare, instead of hiding behind pictures of her dog or whatever. It's like, helloooo, we know you're miserable, stop trying to smile in the face of tragedy!

I used to post on GGD in 2011 and yeah. A lot of Monsters were happy that someone like them truly made it big all around the globe, and their aggression now goes back to how they felt when they were torn down and bullied in school. It's all pretty intense and sad, but that's life.
Not to mention a lot of Monsters have a holier than thou attitude about Pop music (as Kworb said), which also added onto it all when she didn't continue to meet their expectations, so to speak.
Yes, I really do think so. But it is even worse that Gags SENSED this and built upon it moreso than any other artist in my memory, only to have them crashing down from an even higher fall.
It's almost brilliant, yet sad.

Yep. Gaga was presented as something more than an ordinary pop girl and that attracted a legion of people who considered themselves "above" ordinary pop music. I still remember all the monsters bragging about not being into pop music before Gaga.
But in the end she was just another manufactured product, her hits are as disposable as those of her peers (if not more so), and the "real" Gaga is not the woman they wanted her to be. Few things anger a person more than being made to look like an idiot.
