Not excusing Paula's ignorant and repugnant behavior but racism is often too common here in the south.I mean, here in North Carolina, for example the people who comment on my local news channel's website literally CANNOT STAND the head of the state NAACP.if it wasn't for the censorship on that site, one of those rednecks would have used the N word.

And we are supposed to be the more MODERATE of the southern states.

North Carolina is so regressive, sometimes. Just today at work someone said "you speak so fluently", and I'm like "...for a black person?" I know they meant no harm but it still comes off the way it sounds, and it really shouldn't be excused but it is.

Here in Texas I actually witness a ton more racism towards Mexicans than I do black people. It's crazy how blunt people are with it too. I can't imagine them saying the same things about blacks. It's seems like it's a lot more socially acceptable here to be racist towards Mexicans than any other group.
