That said, I kinda hope she's not going full hip-hop on her solo record. Even if she means no harm, there will always be people being quick to judge and blow things out of proportion. She doesn't need that **** with her debut.

I thought of Ariana and I'm sure she'll be involved somewhere in this debut release, but I also think they'll be kind of stupid to do that. While I'm sure CL would enjoy a western smash hit thanks to Ariana's star power, I think it would work against her. I mean, look what happened to Jessie J after "Bang Bang"... no one really cared about her outside of that track because Nicki and Ariana took the spotlight. If they want to give CL some staying power for future singles, I don't think they should get Ariana involved straight away.

CL would never go full hip-hop, I don't think. I know she's working with a range of producers and stuff but for some reason I can only see CL doing YG/GD-style tracks, you know, the electro-hip-house thing. She'll be pop rap at most, I assume.

Iggy's situation is an unfair representation of positive racism and I feel quite bad for her and it's something CL will face too. The demographic of a genre of music shouldn't be, but is a sad representation of who can be accepted within that music scene, which quite frankly shouldn't be the case. The funny thing it, Iggy's demographic has quite frankly shifted from the hip-hop scene, considering she's now widely known in the pop scene. It's going to be the same thing for CL. She's signed to a mainstream pop label and Scooter is her manager. She's not going to be given the time of day to actually be taken seriously in the hip hop/rap community.

The issue doesn't begin and end with who is "allowed" to be part of a music genre. Anyone can do it. The key to acceptance is respect. You can't waltz in and take the culture and not give anything back (show support when the culture needs it, etc). That's where the issue lies with Iggy Iggz. But at the same time there's obvious things that totally defect her from the hip-hop community, things that are almost out of her hand. It's quite depriving to see an artist be rejected of something, especially in the music scene, since it totally contradicts what creative freedom is about.
