Personally i dont think when Rihanna fans say 'well she sells million of singles, but no albums and shes a singles artist anyways' i dont find that a compliment, album sales have always had the most importance, and singles promote albums, so being a singles artist isnt always good, i mean seriously she has to release 4 singles to get just over 1 million albums sold....not so good Rihanna .....i love her songs but god her album sales suck....

Actually I think Colbie sold more with one single than Rihanna did with 4, was because of Hot AC, and AC which Colbie went to #1 in both. Rihanna doesn't do well on Hot AC and AC. Also the fact is when your songs go to #1 on Hot AC and AC, people actually buy your album, while in pop, people don't. (AND LIKE ALWAYS THERE ARE EXCEPTIONS.....)

Adult Contemporary doesn't mean that much on pop charts always. Rihanna was #01 on the MAINSTREAM/POP charts, which are the two biggest...?

The mainstream/pop chart is basically just one chart, its not 2 different charts, Mainstream has all the pop stations on it that the Pop chart does, Colbie had a #2 on Mainstream/Pop and a #1 on Hot AC....while Rihanna just went #2(i think Umbrella only hit #2 on CHR/POP maybe #1 i dont know) on the Mainstream/pop Chart...so really Colbie had the pop dominance and the Hot AC, so yeah

AC audience along with kids are who buy more albums....
Mainstream is more for like teens.....mainstream stars don't sell that much unless you do a crossover aka Mariah, Kelly, Justin, Daughtry, etc.....

YOUR PATHETIC WEAKEND TOP 10: Somehow, calling this a "Top" 10 just seems wrong. Brace yourselves for a new, all-time low this week, with the #1 album probably not even hitting 55k. The previous low/high was set in the week ending 1/14/07, when the Dreamgirls soundtrack topped the chart with 60,064 units. It appears that the idea of extending the holiday break through January is catching on in the music biz. Here are the grim projections (we’ve eliminated label affiliations to minimize embarrassment): Juno, Alicia Keys and Mary J. Blige, 50-55k; Radiohead and the debuting Raheem DeVaughn, 40-45k; Taylor Swift and Now 26, 30-35k; John Legend (Target exclusive), Keyshia Cole and Hannah Montana 2, 25-30k; Colbie Caillat, Garth Brooks and the Eagles, 20-25k. You may now go back into hibernation. (1/18a)

something drastic needs to be done about this...there's gotta be some sort of technology invented in the near future to keep music from being pirated otherwise music may become an extinct art form!! i'm so sick of dumbass people who can spend $400+ on their iPod Touch's but not even pay for the music they cherish so much. I've got an iPod and I've spent over $100 at iTunes, but seriously, if the iPod has to disappear forever just to save the record industry than I am all for it!

Rihanna's GGGB is the best pop album of 2007..Its not a surprise people are not buying the album. The younger generation these days find it hard to click onto a youthful artist who in rihanna's case abruptly delivered a massively spectacular energetic album. They were just used to her delivering catchy singles with subpar albums and now they are still reacting to the shock that she can actually deliver such a fantastic mature album. The slow moving sales are a reflection of that. Its really that simple..Maybe with the release of Don't Stop The Music, the fact that she has released a consistent slew of quality singles may open up the minds of these young buyers..

I see your point, but noone is going to argue that "Bubbly" was bigger than "Umbrella." There is no excuse for her low sales.

I think equally "GGGB" and "Blackout" are great albums. They were my top 2 albums of the year. Both have a great tracklist that I can run through without skipping. They also share not being able to sell ****.

When the internet gets sabotaged, causing it to be unusable worldwide and the media reports no suspects in the case, we'll know who did it.
