I'm bipolar about Judas, tbh. The lyrics and sound are definitely a little too close to Bad Romance to just dismiss, but the chorus and bridge are near perfection. I still question Judas as a single, too, especially with it and the MV being released around Easter. If TEOG wasn't a Dark Horse in the wings, I think the BTW era could have been much messier and much worse commercially than it was.
As good as Judas is, I would much rather the BTW singles have skipped straight from BTW to TEOG, even if Judas would have smashed instead of peaking quickly and plummeting. (While on the subject, I think Judas may be one of her most forgotten and unknown singles and MVs in the eyes of the GP, other than MTN and G.U.Y.)
I agree. While I love Judas, it definitely killed a good portion of the era's momentum. Gaga already had controversy from Alejandro, and then came the controversy from Born This Way. Two controversies in a row, fine, but three strikes, and you're out.
They're discounted. I wish they'd discount Just Dance and TEOG instead tho, they're so close to 7 million and 3 million respectively. Paparazzi/Alejandro/LoveGame have no new milestones to reach
