I know I'm a little late to the party, but I just saw You're Next. It was solid and fun, but not exactly what I'd call scary in the least. The jump moments were few and far between, but I laughed a lot more than I expected to. The smoothie at the end looked delicious. That ending...such beautiful camp. It felt like a cheap 80s slasher in the best way possible.
On the topic of Sinister: A lot of my friends loved it, but I never really got into it. For me, at least, it wasn't really scary. I give mad props to the rather creative lawn maintenance, but it just felt like a bunch of fake snuff videos intended to unnerve you. The videos (other than the flawless one mentioned above) didn't really bother me, so the rest of the film didn't, either.
And I'm sorry, but that ending.
