I feel like doing something radical, like creating a new general chatter area that combines what we now know as The Lounge and Blogs. Threads in there are like competitions etc.

So, yeah. Why would you be surprised? Members love to participate in threads that stay for a long time, like "What are you thinking right now?" Maybe a few threads are alive, but they WORK! So many posts..... But can you be more specific? How would you combine them? Blogs are personal, and The Lounge is our home.

Live chat = I like the idea, however, a forum site basically is a live chat, only split up into organized sections. I do think the live chat could bring some interesting conversations to make some great topics for The Lounge and Blog.

Merging Lounge/Blog = I don't like that one bit.

So, here are some topics that people like to talk about in their blogs:

- Their personal life / stuff they're doing
- Surveying everyone for responses to a general question
- Asking a specific question
- Topics that don't fit any forum (such as video games)

I think ATRL has become too structured and moderated for its own good. The Lounge is just balls now. I think all this stuff could go in The Lounge, and sure it would be chaos (especially compared to how things are now), but so many more people would be exposed to these discussions. The Lounge would have stuff happening in it all the time. The moderators would have to resist closing many of these threads; I think we'd be better off if they were left open. Because let's face it, a forum with no personal talk about the members, questions, arguments, or drama is a very boring forum.

Don't get me wrong, I like the blogs and everything, but it's just all so inactive and boring.

I love that. It sounds like a step in the good direction. However; I can honestly say that I've lost trust in ATRL's sense of freedom. Anything that is outside the routine can be considered nonsense and annoying to the moderators and you get a warning for it. Madonna would be disgusted at this.

I got my first warning for a comedic thread in the lounge. It was N0T that serious.
