Let's not go TOO FAR.
-
Daydream is Mariah's BEST album. It edges out Butterfly by a narrow margin, cuz its highs (Underneath the Stars, Melt Away, Fantasy) are better than anything on B'fly.
-
All her albums are great, sans Rainbow, Glitter and Charmbracelet. Those are legit 1/10s.

Mariah's only ess than satisfactory albums are Music Box and Rainbow. And that albums still has some enjoyable bops.

The only Mimi albums I haven't heard in full are Charmbracelet, Rainbow, and Music Box.

Charmbracelet is cute. It has some duds, though.
Don't bother with the other two.

I think EVERYONE should listen to Mariah's discography in full, straight through, chronologically. It's a different experience.

I would actually say the opposite. Butterfly edges out Daydream by a narrow margin. Butterfly's highest of highs (Breakdown, Whenever You Call, Fourth of July, etc) are better than anything on Daydream. Honestly, all the songs on Butterfly are better than Daydream's. The only Daydream songs worthy enough to be compared to Butterfly are Fantasy, Always Be My Baby, I Am Free, and Looking In.

I can't believe how much atrl does on Music Box.
Dreamlover/ATYNAF/Now That I Know/Never Forget You/Without You gave me eternal life. Or maybe it's because I LOVE ballads

Wow, Even her debut and "Emotions". And those do get over looked.

I really enjoyed Daydream when I heard it. The cover is flawless too.
Oh and Damien,

I like them, they're probably my favorites from her aside from Butterfly.

The ballads on MB (minus ANYAF) just didn't have any life. You can feel Mariah's boredom lmao

Music Box isn't bad at all. It's just slow, which makes it hard for most people to get into.
I love Dreamlover. It's Fantasy's predecessor. When I was younger, I would always start singing Dreamlover, and then all of a sudden I'd be in the middle of Fantasy. Could never separate the two.

Well if she was bored I def wasn't. To this day Music Box is still the album that I use to get people into Mariah and it has worked EVERY TIME.

Whenever You Call is god-awful. 4th of July is great, but it's a remake of Underneath the Stars, though not nearly as good.

Looking In and I Am Free are the worst songs on DD. Total filler.

Mariah's videos are SO god damn repetitive. HOW many times has she done the cute fair-skinned girl with long beautiful hair, dressed in little clothing, frolicking around an outdoor are with her rough-and-tumble friends thing?
Dreamlover
Fantasy
Always Be My Baby
etc.

You're obviously the only one who felt so.
The rest of the people aren't.
Mariah's first number-one album in Australia, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
Music Box remains Carey's highest seller and one of the best-selling albums of all time, with worldwide sales of over 32 million copies.

Macarena remains one of the best selling singles of all times, but I'm pretty sure it's god awful.
