Dua Definitely my favorite new artist of the year Can't wait for her album
Zayn had some good songs this year I only heard one song by Grace and it was cute
Why?: When I first discovered Daya I wasn't impressed with her music but after 3-4 plays I realized her music was so catchy! I like her, simple music but it works so well. I hope she releases good music in 2017! By the way, I didn't know she was only 18
Kiiara
Why?: Kiiara is like a darker version of Selena Gomez and I love it! Her music is weird but in an amazing way! Love her singles so far and I'm looking forward to more good music in 2017!
Flume
Why?: I love when Djs / Producers create interesting music and discover new sounds (and don't go with the generic sound like Zedd) and that's the thing I like the most about Flume! His sound is unique and he released one of my favorite albums of 2016! Hope he releases the song with Tove Lo as single!
Cheat Codes
Why?: They deserve a place this high because those guys released one of my favorite songs of 2016, "Sex". I thought they were going to be "one hit wonders" but with "Let Me Hold You (Turn Me On)" they proved me wrong, they have so much potential to stay relevant in the industry for a while! Love their music so far
Kungs
Why?: In 2013 Avicii was my favorite "new" dj, 2014 Robin Schulz, 2015 Philip George and 2016 was Kungs' year! I hope he stays true to himself and keeps releasing good music!
Daya is great, I loved her album
Kiiara's EP slays, I hope she doesn't flop after Gold

ZAYN
Why?: I know he isn't "new" at all but he released his first solo material last year and he deserves a mention! ZAYN wasn't my favorite member of 1D (in fact I didn't have a "favorite member", I used to hate them all) so I was 100% surprised when I fest heard "PILLOWTALK", the song grew on me a lot to the point that I listened to his album in full... wow, that's all I can say! From 1D to one of the best albums of 2016 from a male artist! Hope he doesn't disappoint with his next album!
Daya
Why?: When I first discovered Daya I wasn't impressed with her music but after 3-4 plays I realized her music was so catchy! I like her, simple music but it works so well. I hope she releases good music in 2017! By the way, I didn't know she was only 18
Kiiara
Why?: Kiiara is like a darker version of Selena Gomez and I love it! Her music is weird but in an amazing way! Love her singles so far and I'm looking forward to more good music in 2017!

Why?: I'm not into girl groups and 99% of the time I'm not interested in their music but this song was the exception! Not the best song but God, this is so catchy! and that funny music video really helps this song. I hope these girls release something like this again in 2017
ZAYN
"PILLOWTALK"
Album: Mind Of Mine
Watch The Video Here
Why?: The biggest surprise of 2016 was ZAYN with no doubt! I never liked a single One Direction song ("Story Of My Life" is one of the worst songs of all time ) and of course I was skeptical when I heard he was releasing single material but... I don't know what happened! I love this song
Selena Gomez
"Hands To Myself"

Julieta Venegas
"Tu Calor"
Album: Algo Sucede

Why?: And top 20 starts with my latin queen Julieta Venegas! "Tu Calor" is my favorite song from hers in years, should have been the first single. This is the Julieta that I love! and I'm excited for new music in the future. 2016 was a bad year for latin music with reggaeton everywhere but I'm glad Julieta stayed true to herself and she keeps doing her thing. This is my favorite latin song of 2016!
Martin Solveig
"Do It Right (feat. Tkay Maidza)"
Album: N/A
Watch The Video Here
Why?: Martin surprised me with this song! I remember I was a huge fan of "Hello" some years ago but after that he didn't release anything interesting until this song. Nice production and good vocals plus an entertaining music video! I'm glad Martin is back to my top 20 after so many years!

I really love this song and I love even more the fact he made an amazing music video for the song! I love when Dj/producers put some effort into their work. One more positive point for this song? YES! That ALMA girl sounds incredible!
Calvin Harris
"This Is What You Came For (feat. Rihanna)"
Album: N/A
Watch The Video Here
Why?: I don't know why some people on here thought this was going to be my #1 song of 2016 when it isn't even part of my top 20 favorite Calvin Harris' songs. The biggest disappointment of the year when I heard Calvin Harris was releasing a new single and it ended being another Rihanna collaboration But the song grew on me so much! I love the chorus and the production, if not his best, is decent. Really like this song but is one of my least favorite singles from Calvin and this only reinforces what I always say, Calvin Harris is the best with no collaborations!. One song left from Calvin Harris
Why?: Top 15 starts with Example! 2016 was a bad year and part of that was that Example didn't really release anything apart from this song which isn't bad at all but... come on! is Example, he can release something MUCH better! and the fact that he didn't appear in the music video didn't help either. I know this is low for his standarts but I'm sure he can release a masterpiece again! 2017 will be his year
Flume
"Never Be Like You (feat. Kai)"
Album: Skin
Watch The Video Here
Why?: One of my favorite songs of 2016 for sure! I love Flume's style so much, he's great and this song my favorite from him so far. The only bad thing is that music video with those cheap effects
Sia
"Cheap Thrills"
Album: This Is Acting
Watch The Video Here
Why?: Sia has been slaying my soul since 2014, each year she releases a masterpiece ("Chandelier" in 2014, "Elastic Hearth" in 2015), this year was "Cheap Thrills" turn! Not the biggest fan of the song at first but after 3-4 plays I was obsessed! I love the chorus, the rhythm and the music video. The version with Sean Paul is nice too, but of course I prefer the original one! Sia did it again
G-Eazy & Bebe Rexha
"Me, Myself & I"
Album: When It's Dark Out
Watch The Video Here
Why?: I discovered G-Eazy in 2014 and since that year I've been following his music. I'm happy "Me, Myself & I" was a big success this year because he deserves it! Love the song and Bebe definitely adds a nice touch to the chorus. The music video is great too!
Major Lazer
"Light It Up (feat. Nyla & Fuse ODG) (Remix)"
Album: Peace Is the Mission
Watch The Video Here
Why?: "Lean On" was my #1 song of 2016 and I really thought they were going to be "one hit wonders" for me but I was wrong! They did it again with "Light It Up". This song is amazing and really deserves "Lean On" type of success! even tough it was quite successful in Europe. Almost top 10 again! Definitely looking for more music in 2017
Zara Larsson
"Lush Life"
Album: N/A
Watch The Video Here
Why?: And top 10 starts with my favorite "new" pop girl of 2016! Miss Zara Larsson released this incredible song in 2015 but slayed my life in 2016! what an incredible song with a cute music video! This should have been a top 10 hit in the US Zara is so talented! She deserves more recognition
Miike Snow
"Genghis Khan"
Album: iii
Watch The Video Here
Why?: Since 2011 that Miike Snow didn't release anything interesting for me and then this year they released "Genghis Khan"! I love the song so much, love the message and the analogy that was used. The chorus is so catchy and of course I need to mention the music video, one of my favorites of 2016! There are no words to describe this music video other than GENIUS!
Halsey
"Colors"
Album: Badlands
Watch The Video Here
Why?: Who would've thought that Halsey was going to release my favorite female single of 2016? When she debuted last year I wasn't too interested in her, "New Americana" is a meh song and I didn't pay attention to her. When she released "Colors" I watched the music video and I enjoyed it! Never got too obsessed with this song but it was my jam for almost 6 months Of course this song deserves a place into the top 10! and I love the music video so much, nobody would have imagined the end. As a fun fact, this is the first time EVER that a song that never reached #1 on my weekly countdown is top 10 on my Best Of
Bastille
"Good Grief"
Album: Wild World
Watch The Video Here
Why?:I've always been a big fan of Bastille, like their music and I'm the #1 fan of Dan's voice but they reached another level with this song! I know it wasn't a big hit and is so underrated on ATRL but I LOVE IT! The chorus, the music, everything about this song is perfect! Deserves of course more recognition but well, if I love it I think that's enough! Congrats Bastille! The music video is alright.
Alan Walker
"Faded"
Album: N/A

Why?: Earlier this year I thought this was going to be my #1 song of 2016, of course that didn't happen because better music was released but I still love this song! from the lyrics to that beautiful voice and of course my favorite part, the instrumental! Everything about this song is perfect. The music video.. is not, but who cares lol It makes me angry that I didn't like anything else from Alan Walker so far, he had so much potential
Why?: And my top 5 starts with a "new" artist! Cheat Codes, those guys are talented but with "Sex" they surprised me! I discovered this song thanks to Spotify and I wasn't sure at first if I like it or not but after that music video I was obsessed! One of my favorite music videos ever! and I'm not a pervert but the music video is genius, is funny and creative! + the teacher is so hot Definitely deserves a place into my top 5 because is one of my most played songs of 2016!

Why?: I know this song is so 2015 and last year I liked it as well but after radio started playing this song frequently I became obsessed! I thought they weren't going to release something as good "Stressed Out" but I think I like this song even more now! Everything about this song is perfect and now I'm just waiting for new music! This is the only non-dance song in my top 5 so I think that counts even more!

Why?: 2016 was Chainsmokers' year without a doubt and I love this song to death! At first I wasn't sure but after 3-4 plays it was my favorite song ever Nice lyrics, Daya sounds good but we all agree that the best part of this song is the amazing production! love the verses so much. The music video is random as hell but I love it anyway. Since 2013 when I first heard "Kanye" I knew The Chainsmokers were incredible producers, I'm glad they found success this year because they don't deserve to be known as the "Selfie" guys. Of course I'm waiting for new music from them in 2017 and I'm sure they won't disappoint!
Calvin Harris

Why?: I almost put this song at #1 I mean, is CALVIN HARRIS SINGING You all know Calvin Harris is my fave artist, he has the record of most #1s on my Best Ofs and this song didn't disappoint, is one of my most played songs of the year as well! This isn't #1 only because it was released recently and there is a song that I've been playing all the whole year so that wouldn't be fair. Calvin disappointed me with "This Is What You Came For" but he reclaimed his throne as the best artist ever with this one! Nice production and Calvin sounds fantastic on this song. I think this could've smashed if released in summer but oh well! I really hope he releases a new solo song in 2017! I don't want more trashy collaborations, please Calvin

Why?: Do you imagine how much I like this song given the fact that it stole Calvin Harris' #1 spot? The answer is: TOO MUCH! Where do I start? With that incredible voice, the girl sounds fantastic and I watched a live video from this song and she's so talented! The production! One of my favorites ever! Those trumpets give me chills. The music video... well, that one is just okay but I do love this song! is my most played song of 2016 according to my last.fm with 900 plays My jam for months! the song with the best run on my weekly countdown (#1 for 5 weeks!). Kungs is an incredible producer and I'm glad he's releasing quality music and proving everyone that the EDM is alive and better than ever! Congrats Kungs
