Here we go! The pivotal top 20!
|
Last year's #20: Taio Cruz feat Ludacris, "Break Your Heart"
Kicking things off for the top 20 is a female artist who has a total of 5 entries in the top 100, and this one at #20 is only her second. "The Edge of Glory" is such a grower like a lot of her songs. At first I wasnt sure about this becoming a single, but much to my surprise it sounded so good on the radio. Lets just pretend the music video never happened.

Last year's #19: Katy Perry, "Teenage Dream"
Coldplay just totally slayed me this year. Even though this one underperformed compared to the giant smash "Viva La Vida," I'm still quite pleased with what the group has come up with. As I have said before they're a group that has become an on-and-off kind, sometimes I like, sometimes I dont. But for this particular MX era, I'm on the like team. This is their final entry in this year's chart. |

Last year's #18: Owl City, "Vanilla Twilight"
What an enormous, gargantuan, huge, gigantic, mammoth, jumbo, humungous and colossal year it has been for this lady. Adele just pretty much eaten everyone alive in 2011. I like her since "Make You Feel My Love" days, but never did I expect that she was going to be this successful in a field dominated by rap, hip-hop and dance. Her second single from 21 "Someone Like You" is only her first of two songs in the top twenty. |

Last year's #17: McFly feat Taio Cruz, "Shine A Light"
Another female artist who had a terrific 2011. After collecting four consecutive number ones in the Hot 100, a lot of people doubted this. But Katy proved them wrong. The song is just made for mainstream. With that catchy generic tune and a really cute music video, you just know it was bound to be #1. No remixes needed. Now on the other hand, the supposed to be sixth number one...

Last year's #16: Usher feat will.i.am, "O.M.G"
Here's the second of 4 entries from GaGa in the top 20. This song is a nice departure from the more upbeat tracks she previously released. One of the early standouts from the album, it was part of the "trinity" that I *****d out upon downloading BTW = this, "Scheiße" and another song that is going to appear in the c/d soon. This song also gives me "Speechless" teas, which is one of my favorite unreleased tracks from her. |
One more update before the top 10. Any guesses as to which songs remain?
