The second review really liked the fact that Demi went to rehab.
I wonder why little mix and fifth harmony are getting lukewarm reviews sometimes. They seem great in the videos
The worst Demi reviewer just seemed like they were in love with "Little Mix" and had pretty much only wanted to see them but that just seemed a really biased review.
Fifth Harmony seems to be too juvenile, too poppy, too unpolished, or lacking in material to show depth for a lot of the reviewers. (I'm still sad 'Who Are You' isn't on their setlist. And I don't like that they only sing covers on their Acoustic Set.) Many are willing to think they need time to grow or wish they had seen more of them/original material to be able judge them better. It's also interesting to note on the videos the absolutely gigantic cheers Camila alone gets every time they sing in these large crowds, perhaps because she interacts with the crowd the most. Trying to get them to sing along, calling people out by shirt colors to dance, making hearts with her hands, grinning and waving. She tends to embody pure joy on stage and seems to really work for audiences that don't know them very well.
Little Mix-some absolutely adore all their energy and dance moves. Some feel the dance moves are too much for them to do and still maintain good singing. There's usually a lot of praise for their female empowerment lyrics but there is some criticism that they are not interactive/engaged enough with the audience. Which intricate choreography will do that to you, especially with a dance partner. You have to do your moves leaving little time to wave, blow kisses, or give audience members any individual attention.
Which I think is the exact reason Demi quit dancing. She rather be more interactive, reading her signs, looking at her posters and name in lights and listening for what people are shouting at her rather than trying to remember which movement she's supposed to do now.
I think those that are able to enjoy that Demi has great stage presence, audience connection and is completely enjoyable to watch with just herself and a microphone end up finding Fifth Harmony and Little Mix more try-hard and less sincere. (Which covering the great girlbands that have come before them may not help.)
