Yup. Both are iconic and have cemented themselves in pop culture just like Madonna/Mariah & Britney/Xtina.
Taylor/Adele are on another level but they just don't feel like major pop acts. Taylor because she might be going back and forth with Country/Pop and Adele because she's all about the music and nothing else. She's amazing but not fun enough for the pop scene.
True tbh Kesha came close but she's had a different circumstance that hasn't allowed her to be as active.
Meghan could get there but isn't there yet.
I don't consider Taylor and Adele in the same category....Taylor was establishing herself as a Country artist before Gaga & Katy debuted and had huge crossover success around the same time Gaga & Katy were starting. Adele is kind of in a different category.
Not if Trump wins the elections and the worse than junior Bush years are coming. Even more anger than early 00s, hardcore punk, nu metal,... can have another revival. Than we would have to wait till people are fed up with the anger and want to believe in hope. Katy and Obama were selling that idea in 2008.
