TV Critics Association announced their noms today finally (last year it was on the 4th). I always look forward to theirs though I'm kinda annoyed that they hopped on the trend of expanding categories to 6-7 nominees:

Dropped:
Empire – Program WINNER, Drama, Perf. Not surprising.
Transparent – Program, Comedy, Perf. Actually pretty surprising to me. I don’t watch the show though.
Inside Amy Schumer – Comedy WINNER, Perf WINNER. Hmm…it has lost all its buzz I suppose. Still looks weird to go from 2 wins to 0 noms.
Jane the Virgin – Comedy, Perf. Making way for Crazy Ex I suppose.
Big Bang – Comedy. Finally gone.
Kimmy – Comedy. Boo when it’s the best.
Murder – Perf. Not surprising for a show they didn’t love.
Added: You’re the Worst – Comedy, Perf
Better Call Saul, Leftovers & Blackish, Veep, Silicon Valley – Drama & Comedy
New: Mr Robot – Perf, Drama, Program
Unreal – Drama, Program
Samantha Bee – Perf
Master of None – Perf, Comedy
Crazy Ex – Perf, Comedy
That actually makes 100 PERCENT turnover in Comedy Series.
Maximum of 2 incumbent nominees in any of these categories. Critics not here for sticking onto shows that faded just cuz of nostalgia when they were better, I see.
Thoughts re:relation to Emmys -
Cranston's the obvious frontrunner but Vance is a definite spoiler.
Paulson's the favorite but the Emmys could choose someone else.
Malek and Odenkirk look in, but Russell has to fight against the Emmys not liking her show much.
Better Call Saul and Thrones will be in again. Leftovers no, Unreal no, Mr Robot likely, Americans...well, possibly but the Emmys have ignored the critics each year before.
Ansari seems likely as a nominee. JLD will probably win again...The others will have to fight to come close to noms.
Veep and Silicon will be in again. Crazy no, Worst no, Master likely, Blackish maybe.
