Funny because.. The nasality in Gaga's rendition is MUCH more apparent especially when the upper belting starts at "and the rockets red glare".. those belts weren't exactly stable, which is why her intonation started getting shaky and she actually went SHARP on "gave proof through the night" ..nit to mention those disconnected runs.. nothing about Beyonce's performance was "nasal"..

Gaga was had a lowered larynx the entire time making her voice strain and labored-sounding. She dodged most of the low notes and the ones she went were not great. Even that small falsetto part in "free" was anything but free.

lol I mean I obviously don't have any but I'm a bey stan purely based off her vocals and anyone who follows her vocals knows that when she exaggerates her mouth movements and her head movements, she's mostly likely lipsyching

Both are great singers and their performances were flawless but I must say I prefer Bey version (although I'm not her stan, I don't like new her music tbh). Beyonce timbre is more soft than Gaga. Also her melisma and vibrato... it's Bey voice signature.

Gaga is amazing but I don't like her vibrato in belting voice (especially in upper part of chest register). It sounds too pathetic and sometimes I feel like she try too much. I don't know a lot of american culture and history and I know which voice 'fit' better but for me - european guy - Bey > Gaga
