And yeah Taylor's facebook message was so sweet, it obviously still means the world to her.

Someone would have to be delusional to think Beyoncé had a bad voice, many of her stans annoy me but I'd never throw shade at her, it's not her fault. You are one of the nicest Bey stans imo.
And I have barely listened to 2 Ciara songs.
There is no point trying to guess, not here anyway, this is a Taylor thread girl.

But you've been seemingly saying that the lyrics is all that matters. I agree with the bold. Production, lyrics, delivery, etc. are all important for me. Sometimes the production wins me over more if the lyrics suck, and vice versa. I was only saying, there are people who like certain elements of a song more-so and it's ridiculous to say that's wrong when it's their opinion. Like you said the lyrics emote more for you, some people feel the production more. No right or wrong.

Which is why I said everyone to their own. Which you left out of my quote. I never said those people were wrong, just that I don't understand it.
For me personally, lyrics are more important than production. if the lyrics are shite, I can't listen.

And that's fine. Just a nerve was hit when you downplayed production, when that's an opinion.

I am really careful on here to not say people's opinions are wrong. I don't believe I ever said that, just that I didn't understand it. Sorry if I did but I don't think I said anything to that level.
And it's fine, things hit my nerves here too, at least you don't turn it into a personal attack

If it were all about lyrics, then you might as well just buy acapella albums. The production is an important part.

Yes, I never said production is not important, of course it is. And there are a lot of great producers out there. BUT we've reached the point where production = sales. So labels are milking it and making some artists change to fit this era and get sales, not to mention the huge amount of generic beats they've made so far. Vocal talent and songwriting skills are not praised and rewarded as much as they used to before the digital era exploded. But well opinions are just that. If you or anyone else think production by itself is enough to make a song great, then I respect that, for me lyrics and vocals are better.
Taylor Swift might not be the biggest vocalist out there or the best songwriter ever but the fact she decided not to change her image and her style while she sings, even when the music industry is not the same anymore, makes her special. So, even when some people say she's overrated (and maybe she is considering how much she got by just standing there singing simple love songs) I think she really deserves all of this success cause she's just being herself all along.

"3" debuted at #1 and sold 2 million in the US alone and more than 3 million worldwide.

If people don't like Taylor they shouldn't go into every thread with her name on it, makes them look like trolls

Now this is just too much.
Basically every track by Carrie is more meaningful than Taylor's songs (besides maybe "Fifteen" and "White Horse"), though I like both.
And she doesn't deserve success with a song like this. Any single from "Fearless" deserved the #1 spot, but this single doesn't.

Not with this song at least.

The reason of David Guetta's popularity lately.

I'm pretty sure she was already selling millions before that, but if that's what you think.

Crush sold 163k, so I wouldn't jump up and down about how fast it went 1 but how long it stayed there and with woot kind of lead.

Bringing up Carrie and saying Taylor's songs are more meaningful is asking for a war. You should have left it at the voice part. Carrie may just co-write her lyrics, but that doesn't make them any less meaningful than Taylor's.
