Convertibles are fun indeed, my dad has one. But not "more fun to drive" in the technical sense--they're heavier than coupes and often less structurally rigid, so the steering wheel can be prone to vibrate and the car generally feels more wobbly.
The Maser is gorgeous, but it doesn't even compete with the Rapide, it's half the price. Honestly I would pick a Maserati Gran Turismo over any Aston Martin and almost any other car (it's my fourth favorite, behind the R8, Ferrari 599 and Porsche GT3 RS).
