!!! people act like they don't understand the struggles, trials & tribulations, that African Americans have been through.
I feel like BHM, & BET Awards still isn't enough For all the things black people have went through.
I feel like most of the people with this mentality are making equality just harder, cause they are expecting for the rest of the ''races'' or the white race to make up for that, instead of integrating themselves more and creating more value and power to their community.
There are a lot of very successful black people, and even tho I have to admit that is harder for them to get there, they are really the ones that are gonna make equality happen, cause they are eliminating all racial barriers and surpassing whites.
Screaming racism online is not gonna get you anywhere

I hate when people try to make assumptions out of nothing, You can't tell me what others with that that type of mentality thinks because you're simply not them. 2ndly No African American person should ever forget about their history, it's not even about equality. I'm pretty sure, You're NOT black, so you'll never understand.
You're just as lost as she is.
Dumb self. Nothing she said made sense.
Piggybacking on there isn't white history month because AMERICAN history is 90% white based which is law and requirement that every USA citizen must know. It's always celebrated.

That's just like Oscars, Golden Globe, Tony's for YEARS &YEARS been white dominated prestigious awards given to them well... for being a white actor/director/etc. But I guess that's pointless aswell.
Blacks doesn't need an award show or month to have a better quality to life. It's paying homage to all the sacrifices and hardwork done by a great race of people.

The problem with people like you is that you want to 'skip' the part where everyone has to acknowledge the differences between each other and each others history and life experience and just jump to the perfect world without racism.
Welp, that's not gonna work, it's easy for you to say 'today I'm not gonna feel racism' cause frankly, you're not. PoC have to deal with not only personal but also systematic racism that has to be dealt with in order to move on. You're right that in a perfect world we don't 'need' the BETs for example but the truth is we're far from that world.
Sometimes, I try to put myself in the mindset of people like this and genuinely attempt to see where they're coming from but I just can't... it leads me to a place of self-hatred. The only reason why the BET Network, Black History Month and black awards are there is because without them, we'd have nothing... she'd have nothing.

Keep living in the past then
Complaining online ain't gonna get you anywhere, just saying
I love how the 90% of the posters in this forum target people as racists without analyzing what people try to say
I bet that 80% of the posters here just read the name Stacy Dash and screamed racism and left, the same way they did with me, people just don't like to analyze stuff here
But well this is just atrl
Nah, just recognising that there's a month to celebrate the race of black people and reflect on our past mistakes is hardly going to ruin anyone's year. There's 11 months (or 10 if you're a dumbass like me and didn't realise there's two dates) for whites to be the dominate race in the world. Not just for black people, it's a time for black people to be centre of attention.
Paying tribute to the black people who sacrificed their lives, their rights, their freedom, to continuously fight for the privileges that we as a society have today. We are able to board a bus and sit wherever we please. I am able, as a white person, to have black friends and not be persecuted for those friendships, nor be persuaded into discrimination against black people.
Regarding the BET Awards specifically, yeah the awards aren't given to just black people, but that's not the point really, is it? Having an award show that is titled for black people with its prime winners, nominees and attendees as black people is the main objective, not to single them out and "give them" something of their own - that would be counter productive really.

I know where you come from and you're right it's unfair, I completely agree
But what I'm trying to say is that if everyone wants equality, POC should integrate more to society rather than separate themselves, cause I feel like a lot of people are expecting a miracle and that all the current whites make up for all the years of slavery that the blacks had, and no one is gonna make up for those years, it's impossible.
The best that can be done is to integrate themselves and slowly change the mentality of the current generation.
I agree with BET and BET Awards but why would you get rid of black history month, that's necessary
Why would you agree with BET and BET Awards not being necessary?
If that's the case, do you think MTV should still have their VMAs and Movie Awards? Should there even be an MTV, since all they show is ****** reality shows?
