Again, I wasn't discussing one day viewership, again this thread isn't about one day viewership, again FX doesn't use one day viewership to judge their shows so why are y'all bringing it up? And FX have already confirmed the show is outperforming every installment in live +3 ratings when the sixth season was confirmed so I would assume that would include Coven.

And that's why I'm asking for Live + 3 ratings for all seasons, also where is the source to FX confirming Hotel outperforming the other seasons. Of course Hotel would outperform the other seasons when comparing Live + 3 to single day viewership.

So what's the truth, ATRL? I thought streaming was an essential part of success? Is it only the music industry that's changing with time? Should we drag out actual sales receipts from now on and exclude streaming numbers when measuring success?

This season was awful from what I watched, it deserves to be the lowest rated. Hopefully Ryan gets back on the ball for season 6.

If an album sold **** first day yet outperformed that day and ended up with an amazing week of sales, would y'all still only consider it's **** first day of sales and ignore the entire week? Because that's what y'all are doing here with Hotel. And discrediting streaming when y'all stan faves that are currently benefiting in charting and album sales from streaming?


It doesn't matter if two people watched it on it's 10PM Wednesday night cable slot, 10M+ people on average are still consuming the season in different ways and the show still has a huge audience reach.

Of COURSE the Monsters watched AHS. We actually care about our fave more than we care about artists we hate (try it sometime!) and support her in all of her endeavors, no matter what she chooses to do. It's the haters like you, fridayteenage, RRN etc etc who probably have never seen AHS let alone hotel, but suddenly care about watching FX ratings just for an EXCUSE at an ATTEMPT to shade Gaga. It's really a sad cycle, but self-awareness and a willingness to change will help y'all in the longrun!

Album sales and TV viewership aren't comparable. But the main problem is that we don't have the Live + 3 numbers for past seasons. What is unfair is comparing Live + 3 to only live.

Now you might say "tv streaming is more prominent now so it's unfair to compare Hotel live only to Coven/FS live only". Even if more people are streaming nowadays, I doubt it has jumped that much from 2 years ago (Coven's airing) to make up the difference lost in live only viewership. If we were to ever get Coven/Freakshow live + 3 ratings (was live + 3 even tracked back when Coven aired?) I'm sure the overall ratings would be higher than Hotel's. But until then we'll never know. The only thing that is known is the live viewership for all seasons.
