094. twenty-one pilots-“Stressed Out”
092. Miley Cyrus-“BB Talk”
089. Britney Spears & Iggy Azalea-“Pretty Girls”
087. Lana Del Rey-“I Can Fly”
086. Sia featuring Diplo & The Weeknd-“Elastic Heart”
085. Walk The Moon-“Shut Up + Dance”
084. Taylor Swift-“Blank Space”
082. Lana Del Rey-“Salvatore”
074. Lana Del Rey-“Honeymoon”
073. Carly Rae Jepsen-“All That”
072. Disclosure featuring Lorde-“Magnets”
071. Charli XCX-“Famous”
070. Ty Dolla $ign featuring Tinashe & Charli XCX-“Drop That Kitty”
I thought this could be a hit and help establish Indie darlings Charli and Tinashe, but even with promo it just went wrong
069. The Neighbourhood-“The Beach”
The Neighbourhood is one of those artists that you listen while you're sad. The hipster and the emo meet. The Beach is a great track.
068. Halsey-“NEW AMERICANA”
We all hate her for ripping off Lana, claiming she's an underground artist who listens to Biggie and Nirvana and flaunts her bisexuliality, biracial identity and her synesthesia. But all I care about is that this song is hella catchy.
067. PHASES-“I’m In Love With My Life”
Kind of sad that they were under the radar. This 80s-sounding song is pure sugar in the form of music.
066. Destroyer-“Dream Lover”
And speaking of sweetness, this track is so euphoric and jazzy. Irresistible.
Tame Impala transport us to a time and place in music that feels both foreign, yet familiar. It's quite magical.
064. Iggy Azalea featuring Jennifer Hudson-“Trouble”
A good music video and great hook by J. Hud.
063. Jamie xx featuring Romy-“Loud Places”
This song gets me. Getting lost in loud places is a great way of escape.
062. Father John Misty-“Bored in the USA”
Bruce Springsteen would be triggered. What does the millennial adult want? Is education really worth it? What are we getting out of life? Save me, white Jesus....because Jesus is white, right?
061. Calvin Harris featuring HAIM-“Pray to God”
HAIM killed it here. This song flopping is a travesty, a sin of the tasteless GP
Wolf Alice provided us with the best active rock single with a female voice of the year (sorry, Courtney Flopnett!)
059. Mac DeMarco-“Passing Out Pieces”
Who cares about the release date? I discovered Mac this year and I became a fan instantly. This is one of his best songs
058. Houndmouth-“Sedona”
I think of Sedona as that tiny town in the Cars movie. A place once full of life that for some reason time took away. Such a nostalgic track.
057. Zedd featuring Selena Gomez-“I Want You to Know”
Selena is in many ways one of the biggest pop losers in music industry ever. Poor album sales, poor singing....and soon poor touring stats as well! However, she has her moments. This song is catchy!
056. Modest Mouse-“The Ground Walks, With Time In A Box”
Simply one of the best rock songs of the year. A good Vampire Weekend replacement while the kids are on break
Elle is so fierce and you can tell she's been raised listening to a lot of classical rock and folk. I think of her as a mini Adele.
054. Why We Run-“Ignites”
The most underrated track of the year. Very reminiscent of the Smashing Pumpkin's Tonight Tonight.
053. Nate Ruess-“Nothing Without Love”
The ex-singer of fun.'s album had its duds, but its lead wasn't one of them. It is far from his classics WAY and Some Nights, but it is still a good song
052. Florence and The Machine-“What Kind of Man”
Florence is like no one else in the music scene right now. This energy>>>>
051. Ellie Goulding-“Love Me Like You Do”
Ellie was lucky to land this song. It is perhaps her WW signature song now.
I Want You to Know is a little bit generic, but I love it anyway! Modest Mouse one of my fave bands!
Ex's And Oh's my fave from this set!
Florence and Ellie too!
