205. Meghan Trainor - Lips Are Movin'
Three artists releasing a song called Infinity this year . Mariah's ranks last out of the three and barely scrapes the Top 200. This song isn't that much better than Touch My Body tbh, a song that I grew to dislike. Oh well, I never really cared for Mariah but this song was kind of cute.
199. Carrie Underwood - Smoke Break
To be honest, I didn't enjoy this song as much as Carrie's previous singles. For starters, I'm not a smoker, never liked it. So even though this is just an analogy for those who need a break from long agonizing things, it turned me off from listening to it. It's a decent song to listen to on occasion but, I can see why this didn't do that well on the Hot 100. I feel like this is too...midwestern.
198. Foxes - Body Talk
Foxes's music outside of Clarity never really won me over. She always had cute little songs but not enough for me to stan for her like my ex-husband Remmy does. The beat is nice and all, but that's pretty much it. Foxes doesn't really stand out on this.
197. Charli XCX f. Rita Ora - Doing It
Charli and Rita aren't really people I stan for. Doing It is Charli's best single from Sucker though. That's for sure. But this song is a bop and the music video is good.
196. Years & Years - Shine
Honestly, I find these guys to be so damn overrated on here. Nothing they've released have really WOWED me like people on here claim it to be. And frankly, I'm still mad this damn song robbed Carly Rae of a second win in Amaloner's game. But oh well, cute song, I like how it was made for that dude from Clean Bandit. But watch this become awkward if they break up.
195. Adele - When We Were Young
Adele pretty much took the world by storm once again and we all knew it was gonna happen. This time around though people actually were buying songs off the album and basically hand-picking singles for her. This song charted the highest on the Hot 100 at #22 out of those album release songs that charted. I like this song, but it feels a little cheesy compared to Hello or the singles from 21. But oh well, still a good song and a highlight from 25.
194. Disclosure f. Lorde - Magnets
Disclosure and Lorde...not a stan for either of them, but this song is cute. Nothing special, but pleasant to listen to in the right mood.
193. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis - Downtown
Macklemore came back this year...with a hip hop remake of Uptown Funk . I wasn't really fond of this idea. But Macklemore's flow works pretty well for the verses. That chorus is a mess though . Anyways, MTVU, the one channel my college plays, played this video all the time that I just lost interest in playing this song, so that's why it ranks here.
192. Fifth Harmony - I'm In Love With a Monster
Thank god this was just a soundtrack single. After releasing that bop Worth It, it was definitely disappointing to release this right after the hype. This song is cute and all, but it's not that special and lacks replay value. It basically served it's purpose as a cute soundtrack single and nothing else.
191. Meghan Trainor - Better When I'm Dancin'
Same with 5H right before this, I'm glad this is just a cute soundtrack single because I wasn't really into this that much either. It's really cute though and a fun jam when I need it. Just Meghan has stronger songs than this for sure. At least she has a Top 10 hit right now.
Artists Eliminated This Set:
Charli XCX
Disclosure
Lorde
Macklemore & Ryan Lewis
Mariah Carey
Years & Years
Downtown is messy but I liked it for a little while. Smoke Break is actually my favorite Carrie single since maybe Good Girl.
