All of the sheepish radio stations in west Canada are going to start playing Rockstar 101 now instead of Te Amo…such wannabe Americans. They also just started playing Rock That Body this week too. It went for adds on Canadian radio in December 2009. It's May 2010 now, and RTB is recurrent.
I was referencing coldcaselove's posts about RS101
That's too bad that you guys are overinfluenced by US. I guess it's like how most of Europe gets the same single, most of the Americas get the same single.

It's just British Columbia and Alberta (west). They are too obsessed with playing what's hot in the US. If it weren't for our fascist radio rules they would probably never play a Canadian song.
I happen to think it will do well. You guys need to realize that American Idol has an audience of people whose average age is 40! When "Rockstar 101" was used on Gossip Girl, whose average viewer age is MUCH lower aired, it got a better reaction on iTunes. About 30 spots higher, actually! That means the people who will like this song are young adults and teens. Which just so happen to be the biggest consumers of digital music. This means that the song will probably do okay on pop, rhythmic, and even urban, but completely forget about it doing well on hot AC and AC.
That being said, "Fire Bomb" or "Te Amo" would be better choices, but this would be my third choice.
I love this song. It's got so much swagger and it has a lot of potential. It'll also appeal to a large audience. This song was played on Gossip Girl a few weeks ago, and it quickly rose to the top 100.
^Yes, but nothing was confirmed for the U.S. You can't really go by what Ryan Seacrest says. Now that AllAccess listed it having an adds date, we know it's true.

Her label shot a video with Slash. It was performed on Idol. They released information about it... that wasn't enough to note it was a single?
^Not for the U.S. Just a video and a performance on Idol aren't 100% confirmation. Especially for Rihanna. A video could be shot, but "When I Look At You"'s music video was shot in October of 2009, but the single wasn't released until February of 2010. Similar situation for goes for "Rock Your Body" by The Black Eyed Peas. Also, videos have been shot before and shelved. Plus, it could've been for Europe or Australia. The Idol performance wasn't really anything special either. Especially for Rihanna. Did she not perform "Wait Your Turn" and "Mad House" on the VMAs? They were never singles.
