Gals, its time to open your eyes and realise that borders are just a figment of our imagination there's no such thing as an illegal immigrant, we're all human beans on this planet
Do you realize that its very difficult to charge a undocumented illegal with a crime like rape or murder half of the time they get sent back to their homeland how is that justice for the American victim and they get flown back under Taxpayer money. You can follow the let's hate on Trump bandwagon but he is right "They got's to go"
I see your point, but a baby born of an immigrant isn't a criminal.
The process is a bit more complicated, and it depends on a series of factors. The person who is not a U.S. citizen first becomes a resident (in some cases they start with a period of "temporary" residency before they can become "permanent"). After at least three or five years (depending on certain conditions) he/she can file the proper applications and submit documentation to become a naturalized citizen.

Some of ya are not realizing the issue, many illegals are crossing the border to have kids so that they as a "family" can claim American Citizenship some are even crossing the border pregnant. I agree with Trump "they gots to go" What's the point of granting "the baby" citizenship if the parents are undocumented illegals and have to be sent back if they go back so does the child unless the parents give them up for adoption
I can bold and italicise my text too, ain't I a special snowflake

Those people are having kids because, well they are people like everyone else and want to form families, they just don't use them as tools to stay here. I am pretty sure they can't just claim citizenship just because they have a child that was born here, it doesn't work that way
That's how the system is now you have a American child you as the legal guardian can stay. And yes American child birth are use as tools. Living in Florida I have heard of many undocumented Cubans, Mexicans, etc seeking to pay a Puerto Rican (US Citizen) to marry them to obtain citizenship that's another tool

One of my nieces was born there and she is American, but my sister did not immediately obtain the citizenship, she got a residency a couple of years later.
The baby should get citizenship but that shouldn't automatically grant the parents citizenship and that should apply everywhere. Having a baby somewhere just so you can get citizenship is gross, it's like using them as a tool.
xox
I agree 100%
A child born within a country becomes a citizen, not the parents.
They can work around legally.
I read somewhere if a woman had a baby in England, the baby would get the citizenship but the mother would not and they would both be immediately send back to the woman's country and after 18 years the boy or girl could go back to UK and serve the country. I don't if that true though, I read that somewhere. US could apply the same.

I been curious to what is the process, the Guardian can stay but as what, citizenship? Greencard? I remember being in school with a Cuban American and he mention his mother who was undocumented will be deported back to her homeland when he turns 18..
