Shakira has over 1B views with Waka Waka if you include the Spanish version (which is basically the same song/video/lyrics) - the English version has 861 & the Spanish version has 158 = 1,019,000+ views.

But Katy will be the 1st female to reach 1B views with a single video (since, you know, Dark Horse obviously doesn't have a multilingual counterpart lol) which is very impressive! Dark Horse was massive!

I meant 'Who cares who's the first', it was a typo.

Tons of videos are set to break the 1b view threshold this year, the only reason DH is the first is because it had the advantage of being released months before the others Had they all been released on the same day, DH would not be the first video to crack 1b. That's not an accomplishment.

And yes, another video will surely eventually take that record from Blank Space, but the point is that it's actually a record
