Making our way to the halfway point...this must be the hour of duets.
#60 "Tardy for the Party" by Kim Zolciak
Even if you've never seen the Real Housewives of Atlanta, you'd be living under a rock if you said you've never heard this song. Instantly, a TV classic right up there with the Friends' theme song.
#59 "Cowboy Casanova" by Carrie Underwood
What's Carrie's highest charting single on my year end countdown? 2007's "Before He Cheats" which hit #9.
#58 "I'm in Miami BITCH" by LMFAO
Just got a little annoying when EVERY city tried to turn this song into their own.
#57 "Say Aah" by Trey Songz feat./ Fabolous
Open wide girl, I know ya thirsty.
#56 "Chillin'" by Wale feat./ Lady Gaga
SHOCKED that this song didn't blow up.
#55 "Blood on My Hands" by the Used
Not even sure if people knew the Used were still making music. Pales in comparison to their earlier stuff, but still good enough to earn a spot on the year end countdown.
#54 "Throw it in the Bag" by Fabolous feat./ the Dream
Fabolous = underrated, yet always consistent. Stay tuned for one more by him...alot later in the countdown.
#53 "She Wolf" by Shakira
Don't care what anyone says - this is THE best song she's ever released. Any song that I could work out to + get off to has to make the year end chart, haha.
#52 "Lay Back" by Rick Ross feat./ Robin Thicke
I wonder if he made any appearances on his dad's TV show, Growing Pains.
#51 "That's Not My Name" by the Ting Tings
I've called women by ALOT worse.
And there you have it, everything up until the halfway point. I personally love this years top 50 and one of the reasons why is because it's so versatile...here's some top secret info!
-ONLY 4 artists (not counting featured ones) have the distinction of having more than one video in the top 50 (and only 1 has more than 1 in the top 20).
-The top 10 is all about the rookies this year, since only 1 artist has seen it before.
-The youngest artist to make the chart has their song somewhere in the top 20. Can you guess who?
-And finally, the highest charting solo female act has appeared on this countdown twice so far. Can you guess who it is?!!!?!

LET THE TOP 50 BEGIN!!!
#50 "Meet Me Halfway" by the Black Eyed Peas
The top half of our countdown begins with the appropriately titled "Meet Me Halfway," the third single released from the Black Eyed Peas' "The E.N.D." Although pretty successful, I can't help but mope about how it's underperformed so far in comparison to the shiteous "Boom Boom Pow" and the OK "I gotta feeling." Nevertheless, if you want a standout track from the CD, check out "Rock Your Body."
#49 "Feel Good Drag" by Anberlin
Speaking of drag, I remember in tenth grade when my friend dragged me to a Hawthorne Heights show. Overall, the whole show was a bust (Emery stole it back then), but I remember these guys - thinking they'd amount to nothing. Well, proved me wrong that it's now 4 years later, and they finally ended up in my top 50 of 2009. Kudos to them.
#48 "Be By Myself" by Asher Roth feat./ Cee-Lo
I can understand why most of you ragged on me for putting I Love College at #80, but truthfully, Asher's actually a pretty talented guy. Check out "Lark on My Go Kart," "Sour Patch Kids" and this for proof. Oh, and for all of you haters, he has one more appearance left on the countdown. Behave.
#47 "Starstrukk" by 3oh!3 feat./ Katy Perry
Was it me or did Russell Brand's babe look delicioso in this video!?!? As I was with "Meet Me Halfway," I was shocked when this song didn't blast off like I thought it would. :Sad face:
#46 "Empire State of Mind" by Jay Z feat./ Alicia Keys
This song was HOTTTTTTT...until the Yankees won the World Series. And then everyone was singing it - even my Mom. Thank God I'm barely home.
45 left...WHO'S EXCITED!!

I like all the songs, but I havn't heard Amberlin. Sounds intriguing though! Btw, I'm glad you discover new music from my list. It's all about trading and discover new music here.

Welcome back. Might as well call it the set of guilty pleasures.
#45 "Love Drunk" by Boys Like Girls
Disney star Ashley Tisdale appeared in the video. The title is about as cheesy as it gets. These boys are the same group who released "The Great Escape" two years ago. But whatever is so wrong about this song, actually makes it work. I love it, and don't care who knows it.
#44 "I'mma Put it On Her" by Day 26
With the demise of Danity Kane last year, Diddy needed someone to pick up the slack. Unfortunately, these boys barely did it. Although they did manage to squeeze in the infectious "I'mma put it on her," which definitely made for a good summertime beach anthem.
#43 "Black Heart Inertia" by Incubus
Another random fact, but Incubus's highest chartest track on my year end countdown was 2004's "Megalomaniac."
#42 "Love Comes Down" by Dirty Money
Say the name Dirty Money and probably nobody comes to mind. Yet, the group features Diddy at its core, flanked by 2 females - 1 being ex-Danity Kane member Dawn and another who I don't even know her name. Kind of surprising that this band is so unknown, considering one of its members loves to rob the center spotlight.
#41 "1901" by Phoenix
This is that song that you've heard while shopping in American Eagle or Hollister, yet for the longest time had no idea what it was.
#40 "Second Chance" by Shinedown
Nickelback, Hinder, Daughtry - I tend to shy away from these bands that I consider "momma rock." And I usually include Shinedown in that undistinguished list too. But this year, I gave them a second chance (hehe). You can't help but admit that this song is catchy as hell, and the go to one-liner for everybody looking for their way out this year.
#39 "Goodbye" by Kristinia DeBarge
This song reminded me of the 1999 - when we saw the debut of Christina, Britney, Mandy, and Jessica. Had she been around back then - she could've been the 5th one - because this song had smash written all over it. With her remastering of the old 60's Steam track, I thought she showed some major talent, but we've yet to see any since. Looks like we already kissed Kristinia 'goodbye.'
#38 "Rockin That Thang" by the Dream
Being that he's always the featured artist, most people forget that this guy actually puts out good music on his own. And kudos to his marriage to Christina Milian this year.
#37 "I'm So Paid" by Akon feat./ Lil' Wayne
Aye, yes - I love it when rappers remind us of all the money they rake in.
#36 "She Loves Everybody" by Chester French
And we end this set with a song dedicated to a ****. Remember if you think your girlfriend/boyfriend/whatever's been sleeping around, GO GET TESTED! (My own little PSA, don't you love it!)

I'm a sucker for rock ballads and "Second Chance" is one of them. Nice to see Incubus make it too.

I agree with Daughtry being labeled as Soccer Mom Rock (along w/ Rob Thomas, Goo Goo Dolls, Train, Lifehouse, Bon Jovi, etc...), and certainely NOT Hinder, Nickelback, or Shinedown.
Second Chance + Black Heart Inertia + 1901 <3
