Psh, the Beatles had a psychedelic phase that lasted for three (four if you count MMT) albums. But don't even pretend that psychedelic-rock albums like Revolver or Sgt. Peppers had no impact on the perception of concept albums or concert-esque experiences that could be played at home.
All of rock is R&B influenced but that does not mean that The Beatles were not hella innovative in their own right.
The Beatles pioneered so many instrumental and vocal arrangements that the group with The Beach Boys redefined pop.
Their power to be compared to an entire genre of music half a century later.
