No, I'm not a hater. Even with my fave I'm able to point out and critique the missteps or the things I don't like or agree with. The fact is, that gaga has done many things in her career that are less than moral. This Amazon deal was something that she didn't need during the BTW era. Anybody with eyes could have foreseen the negative press and they would have stopped it, if they cared. The motivation was obviously to get as high of a debut week as possible.
Of course it's just to say that they probably wouldn't have done it knowing that there would be an asterisk after the fact. Then again if you want the numbers bad enough, I can see them not caring what happened after the first week numbers came out

Interesting. Well everytime I've seen you post about her in the past year or so it's always been negative so that's why I assumed you were a hater but if you say so.
Gaga is no different than any other artist in the business. Why pick on her for being "immoral"? I think you're majorly reaching by saying she's immoral anyway but that's another discussion. I'm sure it was more than just her behind that decision.
"The motivation was obviously to get as high of a debut week as possible." - Um, yeah? Isn't that the goal of any record label when the release a major album? No artist and label would have denied such a deal especially considering the fact that Amazon paid them back in full for the copies sold. That's very obvious. It's a BUSINESS. And if you really say that other artists would have declined the deal you would just be lying and going out of your way to paint Gaga negatively (despite your apparent fandom).
There's really only an asterisk to people who care too much. There was no rule against it at the time so at the end of the day she sold over a million copies first week no matter what anybody else has to say about it.
