I think we should improve the quality of our music first before doing this. It's like advertising a poop through Superbowl now. You can't just sell your sh*tty music just to pay those people behind it. If you want music to be treated as something "precious" you better make your music "precious" first.
Oh God, THIS! The quality of ALL genres is subpar right now, compared to the i.e. 70s and 80s. Sure, sound quality is better but 99% of content is just caca in a pretty package.
Honestly, if people are that concerned with artists not getting enough money for their work they can just buy their albums. Tidal is just an overpriced Spotify rip-off, let's be real...
This "already rich" argument is so damn dumb. Arent the owners of "Spotify already rich... Umm, I wonder if Mark Zuckerberg comes out with a streaming service, we will hear, "oh, but he's already rich. A black man does it and he's money hungry. BS.
TBH !!!
And resuming all this to "richs want to become richer" is unfair.
He helped launch her career, obviously she feels she has to support anything he does. Rih ain't that money hungry.
Well if she's offering streaming exclusives to Tidal (one of the first and only artists to do this so far) and again, co-owns the company, she clearly is.

How?
If I'm not mistaken for Tidal premium for $10 you're basically getting the $10 Spotify deal with videos and other exclusives.
For $20 you get the lossless streaming.
I don't see where it's overpriced.

So when Jay asked to do it she should've said no **** off right? Like the % of her streaming royalties won't go to Jay-Z anyways
I wasn't defending his water comment... Water is an absolute necessity. I was moreso just defending people saying he was out of touch with the cost - he probably knows the average price that he pays/people in NY pay for water, about $6-10. That's probably what he knows. I think it's typical for NYers to buy water, but that's not the case for everyone.

wow. coming for rihanna when your fav and her husband are the ones who started it?

you know I like you but you're being silly here. Unless you're insinuating Rih is a label puppet that does any and everything Jay tells her, and lets him keep all her money?
Last time I checked she was making her own decisions and running her own career with Westbury Road Entertainment

Stay acting like Rihanna won't have more money for Tidal streaming than from Spotify
So she's money hungry IN YOUR OPINION, because she wants to earn more for her songs. HOw is she most streamed artist blah blah blah but needs to get Puma deals to get serious money?
