You can be influenced in 2 ways.
One way is genuinely loving an artist and aspiring to be like them etc. (David Bowie, Freddie)
The other way is being influenced by someone, without actually striving to be like them. (Madonna)
Gaga was obsessed with being a huge superstar, of course she'd be influenced by Madonna in a lot of ways.
Lady Gaga is influenced by Madonna, but she never copied her on purpose and never strived to be like her, that's all I've ever said.
Madonna and Gaga are really different and very similar at the same time...
