It actually looks really good. It gave me war of the world vibes meets a classic jump scare type-horror film, meets a soap opera. Which I think I'm ok with because it gives it more realism than the original show (where its at now), and may even see us more invested because we'll be there from the beginning, and think to ourselves what would we do in that particular situation. I hope the focus more on real horror, not saying the TWD isn't horror, it's had it's moments, but it's far to say it's more action driven at this point, with major shock value.
Still I think the original will be superior, but this does look impressive.
I do wonder if the show is about the early days of the virus, how long can they play on that, and for how many seasons, before it just turns into The Walking Dead.

It's a prequel that will eventually catch up to the current series.
So that being said, it isn't intended to last forever?
Yes, like every other show, it will end sometime but depending on the success of its run, it may take awhile.
FTWD will catch up with the time frame of the TWD universe and then it will continue on it's own.
