I mean, 301k fine for anyone in 2014. With multiple successful singles and massive promo, My Everything is just a bit over 500k, no? Would everyone be going "who's Ariana?" if she had been nominated and won?
But, 300k is great number for him and, quality needs to win otherwise the grammys would lose their importance, there are plenty of flop movies who win oscars
This whole "upset" business is so ridiculous. I never thought of Beyoncé being a front runner, like there are other nominees for a reason. There are only certain instances where a Grammy is undoubtably going to be awarded, like Adele with 21. Anyone shocked and outraged that an "irrelevant" artist won needs to check Grammy history and clock that it happens all the time.

Beck has been around for close to 20 years, so I don't really know how anyone could not know who he is. I for one am glad the AOTY award went to a Rock artist. Am I the only one that remembers his breakthrough hit "Loser"? Not the 3 Doors Down song, the Beck song. Rock and Alternative radio still plays that song all the time.
