Ratings aren't a big deal people. Sometimes it's just the way the cookie crumbles. It doesn't always have to do with who is or isn't appearing/performing. ATRL puts way too much emphasis on them.

Exactly. People will try, time and time again, to use ratings to prove that an artist has more "power" than another. But there is literally no excuse this time. With award shows, you never know how many people are going to tune in.

The reason for this?

The Walking Dead (Saw tweets about it including about Tyreese) + plus some other stuff.

Maybe there wasn't much diversity since most of the performance I have been hearing are all ballad so it tends to get boring.

Or maybe it's because people are done with the Grammy. I mean, the grammys aren't worth anything these days and while it's cool to have so artist are awarded with their hard work, it feels extra.

The Grammy are out of touch and these days, they care about ratings along pleasing certain audiences. No disrespect to the artists, it's the way the Grammy used them. I mean use AC/DC as an opener to get the 80s and older audiences going while saving Beyonce for last to keep the ratings since she's the hottest artist right now and for mainstream appeal. And awarded the biggest Grammy to Beck to please the left field, critical and acclaim audience. It's just becomes a mess since their priorities aren't organized well. It seems people see the bulls**t the Grammy and the lesser award shows have been.

I didn't watch the show since I could just look for the highlights on You-Tube and other sites and the nominees only interest me enough to at least follow it and not ignore it like before.

Look at ATRL. There were people that said that they only care about the mess the Grammy will bring rather than the actual show themselves. There are people that were hoping for Iggy to win Best Rap Album because of the mess it will bring on ATRL and Twitter and publications. Some were hoping for Bey to lose Album of the Year because they want to see the meltdowns of the Hive. And other stuff . The Grammy keeps on declining and losing its prestige.

But hey, if you want to be in your own stan bubble and say it;s certain artists fault, then it's no skin off my nose I just don't take what you have to say seriously. The fact that most of the pop girls were either there or performing says that ATRL is its own world and far from reality.

This is what happens when it's not about the music.

I think the most recent genuinely entertaining awards show was the 2013 VMA's. People are kind of over them, and it doesn't help that like 80% of last night's performances were either ballads or mid-tempos. The Grammys competing with The Walking Dead also didn't help.
