There are quotes around it because I was referring to people who actually believe that. According to the definition of racism that started on Tumblr or something, racism is about institutionalized discrimination, which can't happen to someone who is a part of the majority, which in most of the western world, is white people. So, people throw out the broad statement that "White people can't face racism".

Obviously, this is not true, even by this definition, as white people are not the ones in power everywhere in the world, but in the Western world they are.

I'm sorry, but that is quite the stretch. She didn't have any haters before "Fancy" made her star. The truth is people began complaining when they saw a white woman doing (mediocre) rap and everyone losing their ****, while plenty of black women are doing far superior work in hip-hop without a fraction of the notoriety.

It perpetuates the notion that things must be whitened to be approved by society, that somehow putting a black face on something shrinks its marketing ability. That a black voice can only speak to a certain section of the populace while the white artist somehow can speak for everyone.

Let's not re write the story Eminem was talked **** too, but he worked HARD to get the respect of the hip hop community and proved the haters wrong, with the rap battles in Detroit to the Rap Olympics in LA, with three classic albums etc..bc he's actually talented..

My opinion is that her basic and meaningless music is praised to high heavens and since it is by a white rapper, there is a hate that arises due to the injustice towards the black community. Since a lot of black artists are making genius music (not all) are getting paid dust. Of course a certain light negativity was to beam over Iggy. A white rapper with trash music getting the spotlight and a black rapper with great music getting dust and OF COURSE in America and its injustice we all witness today, its just going to fuel the race wars.

I do think she can ditch the southern accent though and train herself to go harder and more efficient at verses. She still has major potential and I respect that she followed her dreams. If she stopped making trash music and made something great and authentic, then it would make the haters look pathetic. For example, Eminem in his hey day was making authentic and original (lyrics are still TRASH though) that sounded nothing like a black man.
