Not when her so called "punk" songs sound like a revamped Avril Lavigne
Can you exactly give us which songs are similar to Avril Lavigne songs exactly? I'm pretty sure I never heard anything like 'London Queen' in Avril's discog and I love Avril
LOL k den. I'm sure she'll get around to your needs as soon as she's done selling out with this punk album the public are bound to not love.
let us all just firmly accept something as of right now: the word 'punk' need not be associated with anything regarding this album. Mess with your sound too much, first you lose your audience and then you lose your ability. I could name names but someone already has in this thread..... time will tell what Charli can be.

What I meant with that was that she, like Avril, pretend to be "punk" and "rock 'n roll" when they're clearly cheap pop girls making cheap pop songs for a cheap pop audience. Give me a Charli song apart from London Queen that truly shows her "strong" punk influence.

Sorry, let me add "-influenced" to my previous post because it would be pretty asinine to not acknowledge the punk influences in Sucker. Sure it's still a pop album but it's not like Charli's ever made anything different, she's just changed where the influence of her music spawns and given how songs like Sucker and Break the Rules sound, she's doing a pretty good job of implementing the sound she likes into her pop record.
you sound angry! Marina didn't totally flop though. 2 Million singles sold, a massive fanbase growth, sold out US tour and a #1 album in the UK
Gas ha! Burn ha! Resurrect ha!

I don't know why everyone is acting like she isn't. BTR is the definition of it. But its ok, because its working for her and doing well.

Yall need to stop bringing up bull**** that has nothing to do with anything, its messy. Just enjoy the music, and if not move right along.
"Typical punk rock instrumentation includes one or two electric guitars, an electric bass, and a drum kit, along with vocals." "Songs tend to be shorter than those of other popular genres."
"Punk rock vocals sometimes sound nasal, and lyrics are often shouted instead of sung in a conventional sense"
I'm confused, I don't get if you're being sarcastic or if you're ctually agreeing with him. If you're agreeing, please refer to my reply to him, which was 2 posts later
'punk'-lite isn't, by nature, punk so why bother? That sound was explored / mastered in the 90s and it stayed there where it belongs (in history)
but I guess that's the downside to mastering a genre too quick in your career; you feel the need to do something derivative afterwards. I'm still tossing my coins on the 15th I just know I won't be as invested as I was in TR

Agreeing most definitely.
Marina has nothing to do with Charli, so i'm sick of people bringing one or the other down its messy.
And your points about Marina are invalid. She wasn't a flop, it was a successful era for her. She didn't get a hit but she got her first number 1 album, sold 2 millions singles & her fanbase grew 10 fold. And she didn't bankrupt her label, she's still signed after all isn't she? 679 is just a subsidiary of Warner. So stop.

Now, everyone chill.
Should I bother to remind you who brought up Marina in a Charli thread yet again?

With that logic, every rock song is apparently punk now. Just stop.
Charli is not punk. She's not being non-conformist like she believes she is by putting out these pop punk influenced songs. They're straight up pop.
Btw, do you also believe Lana is an indie pop girl?

Whatever, I'm pretty sure she's doing Punk music but you can believe whatever you want, I won't bother.
And lana mixes a bit more diverse, BTD/Paradise were sort of Pop mixed with a few other genres while Ultraviolence was more Alternative-Pop/Rock
She might not be as indie as Lykke Li or Florence but she still has some of that vibe.
