I haven't seen any of the post 2006 shows but it's probably only "worse" because you've gotten older and aren't in their audience any more. If you were 8 you would still like it.
Reemeber when they actually made movies with meaning and uses a lot of famous actors before they were famous. Disney channel use to be for everyone but now...
It started to go bad around 04/05. A little bit after Phil of the Future premiered. I'd say the start of that show was the beginning of its decline. Hannah Montana and the musical movies were the on the gravestone.
That's So Raven was the peak, and though I liked shows that premiered after that, they were the true start of the decline. Hannah Montana was the last GREAT show, although I started to grow too old for the station at that point (I was about 13 or 14).
Even High School Musical, which was MASSIVE, was not as good as the first Cheetah Girls movie, or any of those older 2001-2003 Disney movies on a cinematic level. It was still great, but as the spinoffs and other movies came they gradually got worse too.
I stopped watching after Wizards of Waverly Place ended. I'll watch DC every now and then when they air reruns of WOWP. Other than that, I couldn't be ****ed.
You don't even know. Disney Channel used to be Recess, House of Mouse, The Weekenders, PB&J Otter, Rolie Polie Olie, Even Stevens, Lizzie McGuire, Proud Family, Out of the Box, and classic Mickey cartoons. Nothing beats its heyday.
After Hannah Montana the Disney execs thought that every show should be music based so they got terrible actors who could kind of sing to star in these tv shows and it just didn't work. Then they had no good ideas and literally made the worst premises for shows. Like at least Nick shows were actually kind of funny. I remember laughing at iCarly and Victorious all the time.

Not necessarily. The shows that were made when we were younger had older themed jokes in them. With these shows, they don't.
Like, remember when London started to strip in The Suite Life of Zack and Cody
The writing has gotten MORE juvenile since Good Luck Charlie tbh. That was the last good show to feature older humor
