If you're going to do a clichéd concept, the lead actress better be able to breath life into it's staleness. Unfortunately she went for over-exaggerated expressions and other Lizzie Macguire-isms that are both clunky and forced. That, mixed with the awkward product placement and the cheesy effects (moving postcards, ripple fade-outs), the general aesthetic and the fact that this song is really nothing special results in a very underwhelming return to music.
I would have loved to see her return in more of an impactful way instead of making everything so basic.

wait for her 2nd single.. i think she is trying to create an image of simplicity, being normal and a portrayal of a role model for this era and this video is a headstart for that. she is like saying" you don't have to be ****ty to generate buzz".
