It's a good album but both MOTS and AGLM failed to make any impact and are definitely not on par with the succes of her next albums so you could consider them a stain, yes
Definitely.
Although most ATRL members will say AGLM > MOTS since they didn't even listen to either and think AGLM is better cuz it sold more and cuz it came out later in her career.

*Has only ever heard TTT and UA*
'Mixtapes are soooo bad lol like I wish they never happened omg and Loud is her best album'
just because it didn't sell that much and the public was not and probably still isn't aware that this album exists, it doesnt automatically mean that its a stain on her discography.
No. it just shows how far she's come. Does anyone discredit the Hannah Montana albums or do they show how far Miley Cyrus has come? Yes, Hannah Montana sold a lot more. But Music of the Sun shows that Rihanna started as this 16 year old girl from the left-side of an island and went on to become one of the biggest pop stars in the world.
'Pon De Replay' would have been #1 if not for 'We Belong Together' which was the biggest single of the decade. And 'Let Me' is such a bop. Any of you would kill for an era with a #2 peaking single that was only blocked by the biggest single of the decade. Music of the Sun is the starting point in her evolution, before she had evolved. And i'd rather her have a slow-burning career build-up, than one that peaked too soon. For example Gaga had such a strong debut with The Fame and The Fame monster, she's never going to be able to live up to the meat dress. Music of the Sun and A Girl Like Me slowly built Rihanna up and every album since has consistently been another peak in her career. I would much rather that.
