It is debatable whether a fetus is a living being or not, but in the Judaism it's considered as a living being and abortion considered as a murder. that's the main reason behind the committee.
We don't have gay marriage, but at least we can fight for it and our voice is being heard.
I'm in the IDF, so I won't comment on your first claim for obvious reasons.
