4 is maybe bey's best album. it's a better seller, far better quality...artpop is boring dated selfindulgent mess of an artist that has completely lost it. on the other hand, 4 was a growth for beyonce. and it even did better commercially.
Not to mention it was doing well on it's core format with singles like love on top that was #1 on rnb charts for weeks, dance for you, party... they all were hits on her core format- rnb. that's something gaga can't say.
not to mention 4 opened with 310k in june moth(s) after leaking, while arpop leaked few days bedfore NOVEMBER release.
artpop brought gaga down, she's hated, while bey was very loved during the 4 era and her performances were praised and she managed to sell out tour after the album was said and done.
there is not one good song on artpop, except gypsy-dope-applasue, yet they're average.
4 has much stronger material and it's more experimental than artpop.

quality of material: bey (that's not just me saying but critics also)

GP opinion: very positive, no damages done, she was very loved and respected and still cool, where as gaga is a punch bag everyone's hitting and hating on.
+ bey was pregnant from the beginning so she had to put the era to the rest!
basically, 4 absolutely did no damage to bey, as we can see, it only made her more independent and more risk taking and experimental, all which was awarded by GP and critics. and I as a fan and lover of good music can say tnx for making such an amazing album bey. that's smth gaga's fan cannot say for artpop.
4 is labeld as a flop only here on atrl and some boards whereas GP doesn't see it like that at all! on the other hand, GP is mocking gaga for her flop.
