Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, Nas etc. didn't have half the success combined of Macklemore on Hot 100 and they weren't rapping about pimps, hoes and drugs. Black rappers that don't rap about the typical (stereotypical, rather) get ignored by the mainstream and have been for decades.

Quite honestly, Ignorance at it's finest and most revealing hour. You my friend are completely lost away from reality.
It's Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.

It reminds me of people bitching about Adele slaying with soul music.
Adele's soul music was flopping just as much as anyone else's before 21.

Isn't the owner of Stan Wars a member here? One of those readbots who uses "All of y'all loose ass bottoms with [insert STD here] can take a SEAT" at the end of every drag. Where is he?
And tbh it's probably a good thing Miley appropriated twerking since it's kinda demeaning to women and all. ![Keir](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/korn0818/ATRL_Smilies_All/atrlers/keir_zps24e7c972.gif)

The original comment was ignorant as ****, but to be fair most of the people you listed don't make commercially appealing music (for the most part).
Rarely does anyone without top 40 appeal manage to break through that barrier, whether they're white or black.

More proof that the 'no #1 black artist in 2013" thing means nothing. Especially since an R&B song by a black artist took over at the very beginning of 2014.

Let me guess, Tumblr?
Anyway, racism is still very much prevalent in the music industry but the example cited in the OP sure as hell doesn't count. The first (and so far only) time in Billboard history that there were no black artists with a #1 song in the Hot 100 and that automatically counts as racism? Really?
