Amazing accomplishment, but this stuff and singles driven "record" sales will never be in the same category as album sales and old hard copy singles

I agree, but her album sales are among the best of this generation in the UK. The only current girl (correct me if I'm wrong) that has sold more albums than her in the UK is Adele who is local to the UK and overall an anomaly.
I, for one, don't think the digital age should be compared to the previous eras because they are just so different as far as pricing and the sales forecasting goes, but where do you draw the line? When does giving digital artists an asterisk become completely underrating their accomplishments? It's not really their fault that we live in a digital age and illegal downloading is a big problem. Who really knows who would sink or swim, of today's artists, had they existed back then when physical singles/albums existed?
