Shakria shaked those hips with her all, and she deserved a worldwide smash! It was the #1 song of 2006 for Z100, KIIS, and many other stations. I just loved this track, and will probably be upthere on my all time list
At #39 is the first of two entries for Fergie. It features Ludacris and it is Glamorous. The track is about being famous and glamorous, but saying that she hasn't changed, and she is still the same Fergie she was before being famous. The video makes sense of that, as she is in the video before and after fame. So great song, great video. But there is a better Fergie track than this.
At #38 is the first of two entries from Daughtry. It is a calm track called "Home". The second single from his successful self-titled album, it simply talks after his American Idol life (eventhough he wrote it before AI!) and that he wants to go home, because that is where he belongs. The video is nice, but makes no sense to the lyrics. Either way I think this song is an anthem if you are far away, that you wanna go home.
The final entry for Avril Lavigne this year is the Hey Hey You You, I Wanna Be Your Girlfriend! This is the perfect song to hear if you are having a sugar rush, and not the perfect song to hear when you are worn out! Released in mid 2007, it became her biggest worldwide hit to date, and probably her most known track. (Next to "Complicated").The remix with Lil'Mama is actually better than the original, but I don't count remixes on my chart, unless they are released as a single. The music video make a lot of sense as the punky Avril wants the guy from the geeky Avril. (Hey if the guy is dating a geek, you have more chance in the world!) Avril please come back in 2008! See you than!
Ba Da Da Da, Ba Da Da Da. Yes at #35 is the only entry from the Gym Class Heroes, and it is one of the funniest songs of the year, with an even funnier video! It's "Cupid's Chokehold". When I first heard this song, I HATED IT! But I listened and listened and finally it grew on me. Much so that it is #36 on my Top 50 of 2007! The lyrics simply explain how he finally has found 'the right one'. In the video, of course, he keeps breaking up with girls until in the end when he actually finds the right one. Now, I didn't really like "Clothes Off!", but maybe it's a grower.
